Range Rules and Regulations

1.   Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction

2.   Always keep you finger off the trigger until ready to shoot

3.   Be sure your gun is safe to operate

4.   Be thoroughly familiar with how your gun operates

5.   Use only the correct ammunition for your gun

6.   All guns must be carried unloaded with actions opened when exposed

7.   Cease fires for each range shall be called by range officer. When the buzzer sounds, all firing shall immediately cease. Unload, open action, remove magazine and ground or bench all firearms during a cease fire.

8.   NO handling of firearms shall be permitted during a cease fire.

9.   Firing shall commence only after the appropriate call by the range officer

10. All shots will be fired at assigned target, only

11. Eye and ear protection strongly encouraged

12. know and obey all range commands

13. know where others are at all times

14. shoot only at authorized targets

15. ground level targets are prohibited

16. use of range is prohibited when no range officer is on duty

17. Relays will be run to allow for changing targets. During target change, guns will be grounded, pointed downrange, actions open, completely unloaded

18. no one permitted ahead of the firing line except during target changes

19. Do NOT handle any firearm, and stand away form firearms during a cease fire.

20. NO rapid fire with centerfire rifles

21.   NO liquor shall be allowed on the premises. ( exceptions: family picnics, functions, club activities, corporate outings, etc AFTER firing line is closed for the day)

22.   No profane language allowed on the range

23.   The range officer or range manager shall have the right to close the range to firing at any time he/she believes that conditions are unsafe

24. Always keep the muzzle pointed at the backstop or bullet trap. Never allow the muzzle to point in any direction that would allow a bullet to leave the range in the event of an accidental discharge.

 

 

 

Prohibited Uses of Range

 

1. Fully automatic rifles are prohibited

 

2. 0.50 Caliber BMG prohibited

 

3. Exploding targets are prohibited

 

4. Fixed position steel targets are prohibited

 

5. Tracers and incendiaries are prohibited

 

6. No targets other than paper targets and other specifically authorized targets are allowed.

 

 Administrative Rules

 

1.    All shooters must register with the range office

2.    Registered customers will receive a ticket with an assigned firing point. Only customers with tickets will be allowed onto the firing line.

3.    Customers may not enter the firing line until authorized by the range officer

4.    Target frames are stored in frame shed. Only Blue Trail target frames are permitted unless specifically authorized by range manager. Shooters are liable for any damage caused to target frames. Shooters are required to return all target frames when finished.

5.    Shooters are liable for damage to the firing positions, benchrests and baffles

6.    Range officers shall inspect target frames and firing positions when shooter has finished session to determine whether shooting damage has occurred, prior to returning driver’s license.

7.    Shooters are expected to put used targets and refuse into the barrels provided

8.    The range manager reserves the right to reschedule and rotate shooting points to provide maximum sport for all shooters

9.    Shooters must leave a driver’s license, pistol permit or military or law enforcement ID card with the range officer while using the range. These items shall be returned upon the range officer’s inspection of the shooting station and the customer’s return of all range equipment

10. Shooters are required to certify in writing that they have read and   understand the range safety rules prior to using the range

11. Shooters are required to sign a form releasing the range from liability for injury, and indemnify range for costs incurred due to unauthorized use of range by shooter

12. Shooters are required to sign a form permitting video surveillance of any and all activities at the facility

13. Shooters under the age of 18 are required to be supervised by a responsible adult

14. Animals are prohibited at the firing line. Animals at the facility shall be suitably controlled

15. Range officers shall be identified by orange vest, or large lettering on clothing,  reading: “RANGE OFFICER”

16. The range officer shall have the authority to issue commands at any time, suspend a shooter’s shooting privileges, eject a shooter from the facility or permanently bar a shooter from use of the facility for any violation of these rules, failure to obey a command or unsafe condition. The shooter shall have the right to file a complaint with the range manager.
