As you may or may not be aware, one of the programs that the Connecticut State Rifle & Revolver Association (CSRRA) sponsors is recognizing Connecticut’s outstanding athletes in the shooting sports at a banquet in three categories; high school, club, or sub-junior. Nominating an athlete is pretty well the same as in past years. Coaches submit scores from matches held from April of the prior year through March of the current year, and also write a short verbiage on why the athlete should be on the All-State team. There is also an “Honorable Mention” category for the Sub-Junior and Club categories. The CSRRA Committee has established a few rules in order to be eligible; (a) if the athlete is a Sub-Junior according to NRA rules on 1/1/2017, the athlete belongs in the Sub-Junior category; (b) if the shooter participated in the High School League, the nominee can only be nominated in the “High School” category; (c) Sub-Juniors must have fired in the annual CSRRA Gallery Match; and, (d) athletes must have fired in at least one sectional match in Connecticut in order to be considered for the Club or High School categories. Fifty-nine athletes were honored this year; the complete list is attached All State Brochure 2017 Inside Page
