The Metallic Sight aggregate was fired on June 3 in a myriad of conditions. The metallic sight day started out with the Dewar Match. The 1st target was fired in conditions veteran shooters refer to as “ideal conditions for testing lots of ammunition”, that’s how calm it was. No breeze and the morning sun held in one position so one didn’t even have to click for the light conditions one generally encounters for the first match in the morning. But, then … the competitors moved their targets to 100 yards, and it was as if everyone’s name became Dorothy and everything not bolted down was lifted into the air and the range was pelted with rain. Finally, everything was over in ten minutes and the remainder of the match was held in great conditions. Len Remaly from Massachusetts fired a metallic sight aggregate of 1583 to win the match to let the troop of junior shooters firing against him realize that he is remains a force to be reckoned with. Daniel Wesson, also from Massachusetts, was 1st Sharpshooter/Marksman with a score of 1578 (2nd high score for the day).
