Match Result

There is never a dull moment on a shooting road trip when Scott Condo, a junior at Vinal Tech, is along, but when he finally steps up to the firing line, he becomes a serious contender. In the recent open air rifle standing sectional, he produced the most consistent targets, firing four 96’s and two 95’s for an aggregate score of 574. This effort earned him the Gold Sectional Medal. Three points behind Scott and capturing the silver sectional medal with a score of 571, was Cos Cob’s Kaitlyn Kutz for the Silver Sectional Medal. Both shooters also fired state qualifying scores in the air rifle events in the local Junior Olympic Shooting Championship (JOSC) and will be on their way to the USA Shooting Complex at Colorado Springs next month.
A three-point spread seemed to be the norm for this match as the third overall score was also three points behind the 2nd place score. Firing a 568 for 1st Expert / Sharpshooter went to Michael Acampora, a sophomore at Xavier High School. Finally, the Marksman class was won by another Cos Cob Junior shooter, Laura Miluas, firing a personal best score of 558.
