Blue Trail Range welcomes casual and competitive shooters alike
We want everyone to have the opportunity to safely enjoy and practice shooting, which is why we keep our ranges open year-round.
As anyone who has done any outdoor shooting at Blue Trail Range in the recent past knows, the main covered firing line had fallen into disrepair. The roof leaked and the asphalt floor was cracked, broken and heaved in most areas. In late fall of 2018 a major renovation was undertaken. We now have a new roof with light panels to allow more natural light onto the firing line. The steel superstructure that holds up the roof was cleaned and painted, and a new concrete deck was installed to provide a smooth even walking surface. At the north end – the pistol range – the old tables have been replaced with 26 new spacious shooting “booths” – each with a shelf to hold your gear and ammunition that is adjustable to accommodate shooting in either standing or sitting positions. Each booth has clear plastic walls to improve visibility and prevent ejected casings from hitting the adjacent shooter. We believe that our firing line is now “state of the art” for outdoor shooting facilities – we hope you will check it out and let us know if you agree.
Of course, we have a public indoor range for when you want to avoid inclement weather as well. Shooters can bring their own firearms or rent from our gun shop at a small additional cost. Lastly, we have a two-acre shotgun range. And once you’ve worked up on appetite on our ranges, you can enjoy a meal at our range cafe Menu 2019.04.22.
