Modern Sporting Rifle/ AR-15/ CT “Other” Training Course
This course is specifically designed for the shooter who has just obtained their Modern Sporting Rifle, or CT “Other”, depending on your terminology. This category includes AR-15 variants, both piston-driven, and direct impingement. Many individuals bought one of these rifles before the ban went into effect, and have very little, if any, instruction in the safe use of these rifles. For those who have minimal familiarity with these rifles, this course will start from the history of the development of the original AR-15/ M-16 and the 5.56/ .223 cartridge and progress to basic range exercises, proper zeroing, and positional shooting.

This timely course is based on a curriculum developed by the United State Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) The Legal Use of Force portion will cover topics such as the definition of reasonable force and deadly force, the use of force continuum, justifying the use of deadly force, defense in-home versus defense outside of your home and defending property.

Basic Defensive Pistol Class
“Introduction to Basic Defensive Pistol”, is a one-day course which will take the basics taught in the permit class and then move the shooter forward into centerfire, defensive-type pistols. For the permit holder who has bought their first self-defense-type pistol, this class will be the perfect fit. Subjects covered will include basic gun handling skills, drawing from a strong side hip holster, reloading, clearing basic malfunctions, accuracy and trigger control, and a discussion of the Connecticut General Statutes on the use of force.
Women’s Only Defensive Pistol Class is available.
Real Estate Agent Safety
Blue Trail Range will present a training course designed to help real estate agents understand the safety risks associated with their profession and how to properly protect themselves. Topics covered will include why are real estate agents at risk, situational awareness, how stress affects the body, use of force and mindset, and defensive strategies.
